A good day
Tuesday is looking good.
My best friend called to tell me that the land she owned finally sold!! Just in the nick of time. The LORD sure does have a way of getting our attention, by humbling us back to him and then, only then, are we blessed with Grace. I am so happy for her and her family. A huge financial weight will be removed from their shoulders and they can relax again and continue trusting that the LORD will continue to provide.. LIKE HE ALWAYS does.
The kids and I did a bit of unschooling today. It was nice. The tv did not come on untill late this afternoon. In the meantime, Todd did 3 math lessons and he has only 4 more to go and then the final and he is done with 6th grade math.. a month early.!! He will take the month off before moving up to 8th grade math. His goal is to get through Algebra 1 before a year has passed. He wants to take high school chemistry and he can't untill he takes Algebra 1. I had both kids on the Rossetta Stone for foreign language and they LOVED it. Nathan tried Japanese and gave up. He tried out Spanish, which he can do, but he lost interest. Todd tried French and Japanese and FLEW through it. Apparently the boy has the ability to be bilingual. Anyway. The Rosetta stone will be a part of our daily curriculum now. Both will take Spanish and then can play at whatever language floats their boat. Nathan had drum lessons today. The teacher stopped using the band music. I explained to him that Nathan isn't able to do it. He needs to SEE the movements and hear something to copy. He is having a hard time reading it and hearing it in his head. He said Nathan is doing very well and the hardest part is keeping the beat. He said that Nathan can move on to the whole drum set this fall. That is Nathan's goal. SO, I am on the hunt for a dvd for snare drum lessons. Something he can use all summer long. Todd will start guitar lessons in June. I will give him 8 lessons to decide if that is what he wants. We allready own the guitars, so it is just the $160 I would be out if he didn't continue. That is okay with me. You don't know if you don't try it.
I want a microscope so much. I am going on the hunt for that online. I have had several CHEAP scopes, but they just weren't powerfull enough. We want something more powerfull and with an external viewing screen. ( no eye squinting in the viewer )
Well, I gotta go swap laundry and put my face on. The choir is taking a photo of all the kids and their mom's. Must look better than what I look right now.
