We have been on Spring Break this week. I am looking forward to Monday. I can't wait to get back into the swing of things. We have alot to work on before our portfolio review in May. I want more stuff in it. LOL
I had been freaking out over this meeting, but I am finally feeling very calm about it. Nathan has improved in two areas and Todd of course has improved in Math. It still feels wierd that I don't have to teach them all subjects. If I want to spend a year on just math, then that is fine. ( not practical, but fine ) Anyway, I am sure we will "pass". I am schooling over the summer some. Now that all my "stress" and "crisis" are over, I am pulling my focus to actual lesson planning and scheduling and getting VERY SERIOUS about school here. I think the year we have done, could be chalked up as De-Schooling. Now, we all are getting relaxed about homeschooling and can press on. I want to make it interesting for the kids too. Last night, Todd announced that he wants to do a science experiment with plants. How plants grow with or without nutrients and what kinds of nutrients. ? Great idea!! We will start that next week and it fits BEAUTIFULLY with our 30 days of green.
The drought is really bad. One of my Carrotwood trees has been turning dead brown leaves. Last night the tree had leaves. This morning, EVERY LAST LEAF is on the ground. HORRIBLE site for me, anyway. We are under SEVERE water restrictions, but I am about to blow that right out the window and go water my tree and hopefully bring it back to life.
Now that we have the money, we are starting the repairs and remodel of our home. I got the re-pipe people coming this Friday. I got a tree man coming to take down a MONSTEROUS tree in the backyard. One the re-pipe is done, I can get all new well equipment and then hubby can re-do the air conditioning duct work and drop a/c into the garage and then Dad can build the wall and I can have a ROOM!! Then we will take a deep breathe and assess the rest of the list. I think that we will have to sell this house in about 2 years. I don't think we can squeeze in here much longer. But that is down the road.
